Eden Hore was a high country farmer from Naseby, Central Otago. Nationally admired for his farming prowess, Eden Hore was also a daring impresario ahead of his time who didn’t shy away from embracing his passions. Captivated by all things exotic, Eden amassed a collection of avant garde high fashion garments during the 1970s by designers who too sought escape from the everyday drabness of 1970s New Zealand.
This exhibition brings together some of his most glamorous gowns with new imagery, shot in stunning Central Otago landscapes, by celebrated fashion photographer Derek Henderson.
Presented in partnership with the Central Otago District Council and Te Papa.
