Horizons: A 21st Century Space Odyssey

Having set two Guinness World Records with his previous sell-out World Tour, Professor Brian Cox is back with a brand-new live-on-stage show including this exclusive appearance in Wellington as part of the 2022 New Zealand Festival of the Arts.

Horizons takes audiences on a dazzling cinematic journey; imagining how we came to be and what we can become. Using state of the art LED screen technology, TSB Arena will be filled with images of far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes, and a time before the Big Bang. What is the nature of space and time? Why does the Universe exist? How did life begin; how rare might it be, and what is the significance of life in the Cosmos? What does it mean to live a small, finite life in a vast, eternal Universe?  The deepest of questions will be explored using the latest advances in our understanding of quantum theory, black holes, biology, planetary science, astronomy and cosmology.

Brian will once again be joined by co-host of The Infinite Monkey Cage and award-winning comedian Robin Ince.

“It is with deep regret that Lateral Events announces the postponement of Prof Brian Cox – HORIZONS at TSB Arena on 7 MAR 2022 as part of Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts.

The ongoing Covid-19 outbreaks and border restriction pose too much uncertainty, and have required us to postpone all New Zealand shows until December 2022.

The Wellington show will be postponed to 8 DEC 2022. It will remain at the same venue.

Tickets will automatically be transferred to the new date, and ticket holders’ current tickets will be valid for the new performance date. Should the new date not be suitable, ticket holders should contact Ticketmaster by 4 February 2022 to request a refund*.
