Breaking down preconceptions about traditional textiles and the Silk Road, this exhibition explores how contemporary artists are innovatively re-examining artisan textile production in Caucasus and Central Asia.
Including works by Faig Ahmed (Azerbaijan), Dilyara Kaipova (Uzbekistan) and Saule Dyussenbina (Kazakhstan), Silk Web brings together pop culture, op art and neo-surrealism with soft furnishings and costume.
Presented in partnership with Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design in Honolulu, Hawaii.
