Tame Iti: 50th Anniversary of Ngā Tamatoa

This Festival we honour and acknowledge the continuing legacy of Ngā Tamatoa, and of artist and activist Tame Iti.

2022 marks 50 years since Ngā Tamatoa and tens of thousands signed and presented the Māori language petition to Parliament, signalling the beginning of the modern period of te reo Māori revitalisation. Haere mai, celebrate this milestone with us.
