Cancelled events

If your event was cancelled due to COVID-19, you are eligible for a full refund. We are also offering the option to donate the value of your ticket.

The only cost that isn’t refunded is the booking fee which is a rule set by our ticketing agencies.

You will be contacted by the ticketing provider about your refund directly.

If you do not hear from them about your refund by Tuesday 8 February please contact the ticketing providers (Ticketmaster or iTICKET) directly, or if you need more support email ticketing@festival.co.nz.

If you purchased your tickets through the Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts directly please contact the Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts ticketing team by emailing ticketing@festival.co.nz.

Adapted events – digital

A new programme of digital recordings will be announced on Thursday 10 February. For any live events adapted to digital presentation, ticket holders will be advised and will receive a full refund unless they opt to donate. The only cost that isn’t refunded is the booking fee which is a rule set by our ticketing agencies.

Ticket holders will be contacted about the updated programme when it is announced next week.

Postponed events

If your event is postponed your ticket will automatically be transferred to the new event date.

If you purchased your tickets from one of our ticketing providers (Ticketmaster or iTICKET), please contact them directly. If you purchased your tickets through the Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts directly please contact the Aotearoa New Zealand Festival of the Arts ticketing team by emailing ticketing@festival.co.nz.

Donate your ticket

All cancellation emails from our ticketing providers will come with a form and option to donate the price of your ticket to the Festival.

This is a very challenging time for both the Festival and wider arts sector. Our kaupapa is to uplift the mana of artists and creative practitioners and so we will be honouring artist fees and crew wages, some of whom are facing many months without work due to Covid-19 and the Red setting restrictions. We also have significant costs already spent and our staff overheads to cover and maintain. Your donation will help to cover these costs.

As a charitable trust, donations to the Festival will be eligible for a 33.33% tax rebate. The Festival’s charities commission number is CC31596.
