Led by Mutumutu and Mukukai, two kaitiaki of freshwater and saltwater, this exhibition explores the cultural values and enduring relationship of Ngāti Toa to the interconnected water sources of Te Awarua o Porirua. The exhibition also highlights current activities and cultural practices by the iwi to restore the ecosystem of the Porirua harbour – integral to the identity of Ngāti Toa and the heart of the community.
