Wheelchair accessibility
All galleries are wheelchair accessible. A wheelchair is available for public use if required.

Accessible toilets
Two unisex accessible toilets are located on the ground floor of the Rotary Foyer.

Accessible parking
The closest accessible carparks are located 50 metres along Fergusson Drive in front of the library. Further accessible carparks are available in the main rear carpark in front of the aquatic centre. Please be aware that at this stage there is a curb to be navigated at the drop off bay in front of the Council administration building 20 metres from Whirinaki Whare Taonga’s front entrance.

Three fabulous galleries have a constantly changing programme of exhibitions ranging from the very best New Zealand and international art, to local arts and craft and historical exhibitions, with a special focus on interactive experiences and family friendly activities. It’s the hub for audience engagement and participation in the arts for Upper Hutt with a varied programme of special events, workshops for children, artist talks, and education classes for schools and community activities which vary throughout year.
