Soulful singer-songwriter Majic Pāora  (Ngāti Whātua ki Tamaki, Ngāti Whātua ki Kaipara, Ngāpuhi, Te Aupōuri) and Torres Strait “guitar virtuoso” Chris Tamwoy unite for their Aotearoa debut at Māoriland Hub. Majic is celebrated for her heartfelt vocals and smooth melodies, while Tamwoy is acclaimed for his distinctive guitar-tap style and vibrant presence.

Prolific as individual artists, they collaborated through APRA AMCOS NZ SongHubs, resulting in the recent release of their bilingual waiata “Malu Tangata” sung in both Kala Kawaa Ya and Te Reo Māori. Alongside hits from their solo catalogues, this one-night-only concert promises an unforgettable fusion of Indigenous sounds.

Catch them again at SongWriter Speaks at Tāwhiri Warehouse on Sat 28 Feb, 2:30pm.

Ka hui mai te kaiwaiata, a MAJIC, me te “tohunga kita” nō ngā Moutere o Torres, a Chris Tamwoy, i tō rāua tuatahitanga ki Aotearoa, i te Māoriland Hub.

Kua eke rāua takitahi nei, ā, i mahi tahi rāua i te kaupapa o APRA AMCOS NZ SongHubs, ā, i puta mai tā rāua waiata reorua, ko "Malu Tangata". Hei tāpiri atu ki ā rāua waiata rongonui, ka rere tahi i tēnei konohete pō kotahi nei ngā oro taketake.
