Developed especially for The Dowse Art Museum, Sydney-based internationally renowned contemporary artist Nell presents an exhibition charting her practice over recent years including painting, sculpture and installation.

In a twist to the conventional solo exhibition, she shows alongside Colin McCahon, an artist whose work she has had a long fascination with. Imbued with the symbolism of opposites – light and dark, death and birth, joy and sadness – Nell’s and McCahon’s works share a dialogue across time, geographical distance and culture. Like a rock’n’roll relationship their works speak to notions of transcendence, spiritual awareness and hard-rock sensibilities.
